Don't worry about cleaning the registry - it is not that big, so there is not a lot of hard drive space you can get back that way.

Look for big stuff, like music, movies and photos. Maybe move them to another drive (do you have a C:\ drive too? is there some extra space for a little while?). Then defrag d:\ and then copy the files back. When you copy them back, they will be defragmented also :-)

I have found that when I delete stuff to try to make room, I'm 20% likely to regret it later... so think about burning some files to CD or DVD, or get an external hard drive for more space if you're running low.

Use a program called CCleaner. Google it, it is free to d/l and easy to use, this will even get rid of stuff you don't need in programs such as Paint, photoshop etc that you can't see. Defragmenting puts things where they should be basically and can make your computer faster. Make sure you do disk cleanup before you defrag.

Here's a free registry cleaner. It has the ability to back up before you change anything so you can restore if you need to:

Good Luck
