need help with an officejet K60?

Inside there is a small piece of plastic film that runs from one side to the other, my grand son was playing with the machine and pulled this off, is there a way that I can get the ends off and try to put it back in place? It has one slanted slot on each end. I am hoping you can help me, I would like to consolidate everything into one, it was given to me by a close friend.Model# C6748A, Serial# MY07FA40H7

The plastic film normally removes excess paper dust. The printer shoul work fine without it. If the film is damaged or torn and is still inside of the printer, just carefully remove it.
