Angry? We don't know anything about the guy. Why would we be angry?
Pointing out his political inexperience and asking questions about his qualifications does not equate with anger.
You're thinking of Hillary.

The short answer: He is successful, and very popular....and may run for president.
The long answer:
In the USA, we basically have a two party system....Rebublican and Democrat. There are other parties, but they havent won a presidential election in a LONG time and wont for a LONG time in all likelyhood.
So, since the presedential election will occur in November 2008, the two major parties are already gearing up for the battle. Some people are more negative than others.....(Just like any part of the world, it isnt limited to American politics). So some might seem angry, when it is all just for show....some of the more extreme radio personalies and so forth may really be angry, but that isn't for me to know....
Basically, both Rebublicans and Democrats are fighting to win votes in November 2008.....and while a few very vocal, not so sane people may indeed be angry...this is a normal process that occurs every four years.
As it gets closer and closer to November 2008, people will seem more and more "angry" or emotional. If Obama isn't winning in the polls, the Republians will be "angry" at whoever the leading Democrat is...you can count on that....Just like you can count on the Democrats being "angry" at whoever the leading Republican candidate is.
That is politics, and is no different than any other country.

That's pretty brazen to state that Republicans are angry With Senator obama simple because some people on Y!A have said some negative things. And you claim that this negativity is coming from the Republican Party?
You're asking us to believe that the Chairman or a high ranking member of the NRC is posting negative comments about Obama? Really?
Just be cause some Republican post negative comments about the Senator doesn't mean the Republican Party or all Republicans are angry with him. I'm a Republican and I'm not angry with Sen. Obama.

Simple...they are worried about him. He is smart, well spoken and charasmatic. As far as Hillary, same deal, they hatre her cuz she has the very same qualities, plus she's a woman of power.
One idiot here claims Obama is muslim. Why does he claim this? cuz "Obama" is spelled almost like "Osama". Pretty stupid huh? But that's what you'll hear on Republican hate radio, so they repeat it here. Obama is of African decent, not just because he's black, but because that's where his father was born and raised. Obama is 100% natural US citizen.
The other stupid comment you'll see her is that he has no experience. Really? Ummm....how much experience did George W have when he ran? Or how about Ronnie Reagan???
All they had was the experience of being a governor....ooooh big whoop! A senator, even a one term senator will have a better grasp on how Washington works than any governor of any state.
Comments like these are borne from pure ignorance. They hear their talking heads on radio and Fox news claim these claims and the sheep follow the herd and repeat it.

I think what you read is silly banter. I don't think they're really angry, just letting politics get the best of them. I think the only legit thing people could be concerned over is the lack of experience, but that's not really a big deal. Who cares of he dabbled in drugs to get by, our current president did coke too. I think some people may be uncomfortable with him having some islamic background, which is just ignorance. The problems is, no one really knows who he is. So, we should all just wait and see. Once I hear him speak a little more, have his record flashed in my face, and see him interact with the other candidates, then I will make my decision.

As a card carrying Repub, I am not aware of Mr Obama making "us" so angry. If he decides to run for President I would not be in favor of supporting him, based on his past voting history, his lack of experience, and his, how should I put this...his slickness. I also have some questions about his past, but not unlike the scrutiny any Pres hopeful would get from me. And finally I do not know enough personally about the man yet to know if he has what it takes, in my opinion, to be my president. From what I have been hearing the answer appears to be a resounding no for me. I am kind of waiting to see the fur fly though, when Hillary gets her machine in full battle mode...hehe.

I agree with both Studbolt and Triteandam above.
He's having a big impact on public debate. He has progressive views. As a potential presidential candidate, he has a "bully pulpit" to discuss issues that the Republicans would rather not address.
I find it distressing that so many people seem to think he's a Muslim. (The Rove machine is apparently doing its work well.)
