I thought Safin played better in the first two sets, and Roddick was lucky to have won the first set in a tie-breaker to tie it up 1-1. The third set Roddick played better and rightfully won it.

The fourth set wasn't great from both players. Safin missed some early backhand down-the-line shots and his backhand was a source of unforced errors for the remainder of the set. Roddick's forehand was also his source of unforced errors and it really broke down at times in the fourth set. A bad set by both players but Roddick stopped his unforced forehand errors in the tie-break, and easily won the tie-break.

It was a pretty even match if ask me, I think Safin was a little rusty though. When these two meet again, it will most likely lean Safin's way.

i thought safin was playing better until he ran out of steam ,it seems that he was just getting the ball back in the final set of the match.
