not really, most of it has mineral oil in it which is the same as babyoil, and plant extracts.

Most cosmetic products contain some level of chemical which may be harmful to us over a prolong period of usages. Though these products are being regulated by the FDA or local goverment bodies, the presence of the chemical is controlled by a limit level. But that doesn't mean there is no chemical and in most cases, chemical are harmful, especially since cosmetic products are used directly on the skin.
Look for naturally derived products for your make up. They are just as effective and reasonable priced. Such products are getting more and more common.

Yes, some make-up is made out of animal "stuff" and it can be extremely bad for your skin. However, many companies are now using organic materials. Arbonne is a great company for natural make-up. If Arbonne doesn't work for you try other make-up companies. also go to organic stores such as Sprouts or Whole Foods Market or any other organic store, and look in the make-up aisle. They always have good selections. If that is too expensive I do believe Cover Girl is now using organic materials.

no it does not have animal stuff in it: "The Romans and ancient Egyptians used cosmetics containing mercury.
Cosmetic colorants are highly regulated. In the US, the regulating body is the Food and Drug Administration. Each country or group of countries has their own regulatory agency that controls what can go into cosmetics. Many colorants in cosmetics are also used as food dyes.
The red color of lipstick can come from iron oxide (rust) or from organic pigments. Typically, the pigment is crushed very finely while being mixed with castor oil. This pigment mixture is then mixed with a wax base to form a finished lipstick. The red color of some eyeshadows is from the dye carmine, made from the crushed bodies of the cochineal insect. This is extremely expensive and is used as rarely as possible. Pure carmine dye is usually more expensive than gold.
Lipstick can contain the shimmery substance of fish scales called "pearl essence." Pearl essence is obtained primarily from herring and is one of many by-products of large-scale commercial fish processing. This is rarely used due to the high cost and extreme fragility of this type of colorant. The primary source of the pearlescent shine used in lipsticks, eyeshadows, and blush is mica, a natural, mined mineral. The mica, which is translucent, is coated with a very thin layer of titanium dioxide. This coating causes color to appear through interference effects with the mica; varying the thickness of the titanium dioxide changes the color.[1]
Castor oil and its derivatives are used to make cosmetics, especially non-comedogenic cosmetics (cosmetics that don't exacerbate or contribute to acne) [2]"

Studying fashion, I do know that some make-up does contain animal products. Especially high end make-up, like i know that Chanel does. It's a sad thing, but it's true.

I cant imagine people putting animal stuff in make-up. Maybe your mom wants you to stop wearing make-up so you wont look old when you remove it. I don't like make-up so i don't use it =) \.
