It sounds confusing, but remember that when your doctor tells you how many weeks along you are, s/he is counting from your last menstrual period, not the date that you actually conceived. It sounds rather ridiculous - technically, you'd have been "two weeks pregnant" at conception, but it's a pretty standard method of dating during pregnancy.

I'm looking at a calendar and guessing that you mean your last period was November 22? If that's the case, then yes, it looks like you'd be considered just past the eight week mark. :)

Congratulations!!

an ultrasound is a good way to check and see how far along you are by checking the babys size and weight. some woman do have their periods in the first few months of being pregnant... (they'll be very light and spotty), but usually the doctor does ask when your last regular period was. That way they can calculate when you conceived and when about the time the baby will be due. i wish you the best of luck!!!

at 8 or 10 weeks the doctor cant feel how far along you are... but most doctors usually go by your period to say how far along you are in weeks of pregnancy...so if you say u had your period on the 22nd he should have counted it from the 22nd to whatever date you where at the doctors.. so i don't understand where he got the 18th from.. but if u are going for Ur scan that is more accurate so whatever date you get for your baby to be due on, go on google nd type due date and a chart will come up if you enter your expected date your conceiving date will show up.. hope this helps x

When you get an ultrasound, the size of the fetus will tell the doctor exactly how far along you are (down to the day!). Till then, don't worry about it - after all, it's considered normal for a baby to be born anytime within two weeks before or after the due date!

Dr's measure a pregnancy my the first date of your last menstrual period...therefore technically you are already 2 weeks pregnant when you actually get pregnant. Most Dr's can tell by teh size of your uterus how far along you are. A ultrasound will determine where you really are.

some women have a period during there Pg's. An Ultrasound is the best way to find out how far along you are. As to the "can dr's actually feel" question... it depends on the dr, and if you are a regular or not. If they have had a lot of experience, I'd say yes, but it he's not used to how your uterus feels like, then I'd say not. :) Good luck and congrats!!!

No, you ovulate before you have a period. The doctors dates are not spot on, so it all depends when you ovulate and when you had sex. As women ovulate at different times it is a bit of guess work. So rule is to go by the date of your last period.
