For centuries, the symbol of justice has been a blindfolded woman carrying balancing scales, in your own opinion, why is "justice" traditionally persented as blindfolded and what is the significance of the scales?

Blindfolded as to not be prejudice or wrongfully swayed by personal characteristics such as wealth, gender or race. She can only hear the facts, to measure in terms of the scales of justice - judged on what the pre set laws say and scaled for the facts in front of you.

Eye-roll. Yeah, some sort of Utopian symbol. Good luck with that. lol

Well the woman is blind folded to represent guilt or like a god like figure. Even though the person did something wrong and nobody knows, god still sees all. As for the scale, it means fairness and balance.

the blindfold symbolizes a justice system which, while it cannot see the bank balance figures of the parties, can, nevertheless, smell who is filthy (and thus stenchfully) rich and, thus, must be declared the winner. ;-)
