I have recently been disturbed by American Idol. Watching this season's auditions I can't help but think the judges are taking things to far. When someone decides to try out they are inviting criticism of thier singing, that doesn't bother me. Simon can yell about how bloody awful someone sings, but when he goes as far as to tell someone they look like a monkey, I think he's gone to far. The judges have begun to critisize much more than the contestants singing lately calling people fat and ugly and alot more. How do you feel about it?

Motorcity the fact is the truth can and does hurt sometimes. If you call someone fat, that hurts them, if you make fun of thier clothes that hurts them. If someone called you ugly you would be hurt.

Simon meant to call him a lemur. What...does the truth hurt? I think that guy used to be a woman anyway. (S)He looks like a sex change operation gone right.

I agree they were discussing that on the news today too. Judges are suppose to criticize if the contestants have talent or not. They should not be talking about peoples appearance or making fun of them because they look a certain way. that's really messed up and shallow. All three of them are washed out people, they should be the last one talking. Simon is just gay with those tight tee's. Paula is an old woman trying desperately to stay young and whats his face is a wanna be thug. "that's good dawg"

i think it's all for the ratings...it's not enough to tell them that they can't sing...to get the kind of reaction that will boost ratings, why not go the extra step and tell them they r fat and look like a bush baby?? but these young hopefulls have to sign some sort of waiver in order for the show to air them...so in part it kinda goes along with the territory...

Yes ! I agree with you.. He probably crushed that poor boy.. I mean I think he took it too far..They can all be funny, but I agree with you.. They need to know where to draw the line.. This isn't a beauty pageant, it's based on your singing ability..Hopefully they calm down on this..

I agree with you. It has become nothing more than a freak show. Maybe that is why it is so popular.
