It was my girlfriend's horse but she died last winter. It was a bad frost in Nebraska. Shortly after her death, her horse busted down the stall and disappeared in a blizzard before we could get to it. Strangest thing is an owl has been hooting for six nights lately. It makes me wonder if my girlfriend and her horse wildfire are riding in some spiritual way. I keep calling out for wildfire hoping it will come back.

It depends on how long the horse has been gone, which is not clear from you posting..? Also, is there still a blizzard going on? The best way to lure a horse, or any other animal, home is usually with food. Especially in the winter when there isn't much out there for them to eat, they will return to a place that they've always been fed in the past. Or maybe try hunting dogs to track it down?

I am afraid that horse is gone. It obviously did not want to live anymore.
