I've seen conflicting answers to this one. I'm 67, working, AND collecting social security (all in California). My job will end in the summer, and I'd like to collect unemployment while I look for a new job, (with my social security still coming in.) Can I?

Unemployment is only paid to people who have no other source of income. Since you have SS, you will be denied. However, you're best bet is to contact the unemployment office in your state and get it straight from them.

you could except that you have to claim your ss as income and that will reduce or eliminate what unemployment will give you.
