No. Their suicide rate is the same as the rest of the population. They may be depressed over the state of the world and their personal lives, but goths look into the depths of darkness and still want to live. They realize that even with all the pain, there are enumerable benefits to life, and few real goths are willing to give it all up.

I think goth and emo are constantly a label for people who are different or people who dye their hair black or people who listen to certain music. It's not right. Emo, means Emotional. it means they are emotional people and slit their wrists to help them. It realeases some endorphin that makes them feell better (I heard it on House) Also, they are people who really just don't know what to do anymore, and are hating life, and are giving up on it anyways, people always call people Emo and gothic. But i don't think it's very fair. it's just another label. And what do you think is a REAL goth? someone who fits the label? ha, right...

No. Thats just a misconception. Being goth has made my life so great. I've never been happier. And if you ask the older goths they will tell you that they love life and would never think about suicide.
