Instead of condemning people with addictive personalities, how about holding drug dealer, illegal drug financiers and doctors accountable for their contributions in the enslaving of others. What if your child becomes addicted to prescription medication because some irresponsible doctor neglected to monitor his patient, would you want the world to condemn your child? Or would you want that child helped?

You know, I personally believe that drugs should be legal and free. If someone wants to waste their life it should be their choice, but don't rob and attack me to pay for it. It would get rid of the jail overcrowding aswell as put an end to all organized crime associated with drug use. I personally don't think wasting a perfectly good island on drug addicts is a good idea, when there are so many wasted burned out downtown area that already harbor them. So basically create distribution points in the worst areas and they will gravitate to those areas and waste away to nothing. If any of them wish to get off the garbage there are so many programs available to them now.
The only flaw would be the lack of crackwhores. Who would we have to look down on?

i can see your reasoning, but i dont really think that locking them away on an alcatraz type island is the answer.
give them the help that they need.
and remember, once theyve started drugs, its not neccessarily their choice to carry on. they're addicted. their bodies need that substance.
just something to think about.
and they may not have started out of their own free will. their drink could have been spiked or something. is it fair to force these innocent people onto an island?

I think the govt shold legalize drugs then tax the **** out em like they do tobacco and alcohol, by doing so crime would drop gangs looze a source of income, and the dopers would actually be doing something productive for society just by paying the taxes

I agree with the island but with no drugs and no access to the outside world, just food and essentials. That way they'd have no option but to go cold turkey

unlimited supply till they die ( much much cheaper ) and if they have the drugs and don't have to STEAL to get them what danger are they ?
AND your basic premise is WRONG drugs don't make people bad - bad people use drugs ( so they would be bad with or without the drugs ) BUT many many GOOD PEOPLE use drugs also - and they never do bad things !

I agree with you %100. The current systems in place to deal with this problem are completely ineffective.
