Major in History or Political Science. Then take the LSAT and go to law school. Meanwhile, go to your preferred party headquarters and donate your time. Get involved.

Law school graduating in the top 10 would be very helpful. Also Political Science will be needed along with a healthy dose of American History.

Political Science would be a good major, keep your nose clean, no scandals, and volunteer for a local politician.

Good way to start

You need to be a very competitive person and have a strong sense of justice. That is things make you mad and inspire you to work, work work to achieve your goals what ever they are.

Politics is usually a short lived profession assuming you mean elective politics.

have your head examined!! politics is for criminals. i live in d.c. and my work causes me to be in the halls of congress and the house of representatives frequently.you never saw a bigger bunch of dirtbags. look around most politicians are either insane (mayor of new orleans) downright ciminal (g.w.bush,marion barry) racist (jesse helms) murderers(garry condit) sexual predators or just power hungry freaks.

take some drama or acting classes so you can look people in the eye and lie to them.....and then have someone without scruples who is infinitly wealthy to push you to the top, to whom you will be subserviant when they want something done...in other words...become a criminal..only dont get caught..or if you do, have someone else to blame....
