The lifespan of a retractable network cable as compared to a regular length of cable of 6, 8,12 etc length is not worth the cost.
I take it that you would like this so you can plug in with a laptop. Stick with a regular Cat5E cable as they are cheap and do not have moving parts. The contacts on the retractor or often a failure point, especially if heavily used.
At cablestogo.com, the 7, 10 and 14 foot lengths are $10, $12 and $14 respectively. The retractables are about 4-5 feet because of the size of a coiled cord and packaging makes longer lengths impractical.
