No - men sometimes need the seat down, so it should always be down :)

I have never understood why this has bothered so many women - what is the big deal if the toilet seat is up or down - if a man wants to leave it up then he should be allowed it will take 1 second to put it down

In our house, we leave the seat AND the lid down when not in use. That way,
#1- Everyone has to do the same amount of "work". End of argument.
#2- The toilet bowl isn't exactly the most attractive thing to look at. People put their butts in there.
#3- Sanitary reasons, they've found that when you flush, mist comes up from the toilet and gets on other things in the bathroom--like your TOOTHBRUSH. YUCK!

To be honest I never really think about whether the toilet seat is up or down. But when you think about it, if there are more men in the house, then the one woman has to deal with putting the seat down more than the men do having to put it up.

I think its most unfair of women to expect men to put the seat down. I think the loo looks better with the seat in place but thats a personal opinion. I don't insist the men in my household put the seat back but they both do - and they clean it! But hey, I'm worth it....

According to Feng Shui, a lot of Chi goes down the Loo if the lid is left up. So everyone should put it down when it's not in use.
Although that can be a problem.
My wife had a bad attack of 'The Runs' one night. So she ran to the toilet, and sat, just in time,,,,,,
Unfortunately for her, the lid was down!

I think so. I think women just dont like to look in the toilet more so than us falling in. I have 3 sons and a husband. I get pissed when they use the toilet but leave it open like someone wants to look in there.

Never. The lid should always be closed before you flush. If you leave it up the force of the water when flushing sends billions of germs into the air & they land all over your toothbrush!!!!!!!
You think i'm kiding but i'm not, you might as well dip your toothbrush in the bog when cleaning your teeth if you leave the seat up!!!!!!!!!
