The line is crossed whenever you engage in activity that you can't share with your spouse.

Concerning how serious you should take this, we don't know how far it's gone. Only you know what your tolerance level is.

I'm not sure what you mean by upset? But I'm assuming you are married and are playing with an emotional affair. Let me tell you it's difficult to decipher. I do now realize that I am in an emotional affair. I know now that I don't get everything I need from my marriage. I have not crossed the line and I don't believe I am a "cheat". Some would disagree with me but it's my life. I will not give up my marriage for a friendship which he is married too. Neither of us want to break up our families for a friendship. But just having the ability to talk to each other everyday makes life better and we don't want to stop talking. I'm not sure if I was any help , but good luck and follow your heart.

if he is trying to disconnect from u, or is suddenly disrespectful, suddenly u no longer feel loved, and your not his main priority, Than i would worry. we just need to trust our intuition if we don't know something. our intuition never lies to us. when the line has been crossed i would imagine he is telling her personal stuff and there is alot of flirting, and he may feel a connection to her, and may want to make it more if he has crossed the line. emotional affairs sometimes turn into full blown affairs. just follow your instincts.

Why don't you worry about why your partners attention is not on you.
You need to take up their time.
You need to be front and center in their sights.
If you are wraped around and pleasing your partner when are they going to have time (or the need) to find anything anywhere else.
You and your partner have a commitment to keep the others attention. So go talk to them about it and get their attention in a way that they love.
