Goob is short for Goober! Its another way of saying you are silly (in a cute way, not bad) I had a cat named Goober once... she had huge ears and a tiny little head!

goob= goober : generally, a loving or kind way of calling one a "goofball"
derived from goober pyle tv character from gomer pyle, USMC.
goober is short for goober pea, southern US slang for a peanut (there's a song called "eating goober peas, that's a parody of "bringing in the sheaves", an old hymn). source of that slang... unknown to me. perhaps someone else knows that.

a "goob" is short for "goober" wich means ur silly, wierd, funny etc. etc. My uncle calls me that all the time

It is an 80s term, short for "goober". A "goober" (not referring to the candy) is like a dork. It is someone who does things without thinking and not too bright adn who never seems to quite fit in.
