the fear that i dealt with in 5th and 7th grade.
i went to a catholic school where the teachers were nuns. my fifth grade teacher yelled , slapped, spanked, and threw things at certain children. she'd send you to the board to answer 10 Science questions. if you got even one wrong her face would turn beat red, she'd storm across the room and bang your head against the board, calling you mope, dope, or featherhead. she must have stood 6' tall and weighed at least 250-300 lbs. i remember praying each day, on the way up to the third floor, in the morning and after lunch, that she would die before we reached the classroom. she was truly sadistic.

7th grade was a different story. this nun just liked to pick on me because i was quiet and shy. she'd called me "the professor" and ask me the most dificult questions, knowiing i would draw a blank and give the wrong answer. then she would howl, "oh, the professor doesn't know the answer",...

my 5th grade experience landed me in the hospital for two weeks with an ulcer.

my 7th grade experience led me to having my first serious bout with panic attacks.
