There are things like weekend feeders and week feeders but I have heard that these raise the pH of your tank. I would look into an automatic feeder or train a friend to do it while you're gone. Keep in mind they really don't need to be fed everyday so if your friend can only make it every other day thats better than nothing.

Don't use the week end feeder blocks, they only pollute the water. Two weeks without food will not hurt the fish. They can go much longer than that. Do a nice water change and leave the fish in a nice clean tank and they will be just fine. Don't try to fatten them up for the fast,it won't help. Turn the heat down a little, pond goldfish go all winter without feeding and survive quite well. It's not easy to leave them the first time, but when you return to a tank of happy, healthy fish, it will get easier.---Don't worry, clean water is more important than food. Enjoy your trip.------PeeTee

Any pet store will have "Weekend" feeder pellets that are time released. You can also buy electronic feeding devices that will feed on a schedule. I prefer the automatic electronic devises as the time release junk usually only makes a mess in the tank.

My mother is a teacher with a fishtank in her classroom. On school vacations she uses Pyramid shaped feeders that are time-release. I don't know how long they last, but you should look into them. She gets them at Petco stores, but I'll bet you could find them at any major pet store. Make sure you ask the clerks there too. They can probably help you out more than we can.

With all of the books and magazine articles I've read, I have never herd of a capsule that dose that. You can get your neighbor or your parents to do it for you if you like or go to your local pet store to see if they know anything about that.

Ydep - they exist - you can buy them at any pet store, walmart, target, etc - any place selling fish supplies - and they work well too. read the instructions - you may need to put in extra if you have a lot of fish.
here's one brand - http://www.animalworldnetwork.com/vafedblst.html

they make tablets called 'weekend feeders' and 'vacation feeders'. i use them for the fish at the office so that we don't have to come in on our days off. they're mostly calcium that disolves slowly and as it does, it releases brine shrimp and fish flakes into the water. I wouldn't feed them to them on a CONSTANT basis, but for weekends and vacation they're great. just make sure that their daily diet is varied.
i beleive the brand is wardley's.... here's a link
