Musicians are a broad range of people who use some type of instrument to produce music. A singer is a musician who uses his/her voice as the primary instrument.

Umm...there SHOULDN'T be a difference. People who sing in their cars and in the shower are not musicians, the same as people who learn a few chords on guitar are not musicians. People who study voice/an instrument are musicians.

A singer takes a song that's already written and performs it. A musician writes the song and may or may not perform it.

Don't know that there is a difference. A singer (or vocalist) uses his or her voice as an instrument and like a guitarist, pianist, drummer, etc. contributes to the music as a whole.
