My sister went to the doctor this week and they estimate her being five weeks pregnant and they did an ultrsound but they said that they couldn't find the baby! Is it possible that at five weeks the baby is still too small to be seen with an ultrasound?

i am not sure of all the details she was very upset and didn't give me complete details beause i am 32 weeks myself and she dosen't want me upset. She goes back next week to have another ultrasound done. I went to these doc with my first pregnancy and loved them so I know that they are really good docs but I just wanted to know because I am going to try to go with her next week and i want to be prepared for the best and worst case.

usually a embryo that small is hard to see on ultrasound. If they find a yoke sack that might just be the baby...its still very small. I'm just turning 7 weeks myself and my baby is almost as big as the yoke sac they come attached with up until 8-9 weeks. Maybe they were also looking in the wrong spot??
Just try to keep her as calm as possible and let her know she has someone praying for her. :)

That's odd. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and there was obviously a baby!

That is odd, what did her OB say? I had a US done at 3 weeks & they found my baby, took about 15 mins to get a clear view. She needs to ask her OB what is going on.

No, it would be very small, but it would still be there. Didn't the doctor tell her anything else besides that?
