Well documented here in St. Louis. Larussa wanted Rolen to sit and rest his ailing shoulder/back when he was in a huge slump back in September...Rolen wanted to play. His slump got so bad that Tony had to bench him late in the year. Rolen was so ticked he quit talking to Tony and vice versa.
Rolen ends up tearing it up in the postseason but (according to the Post-Dispatch) they still aren't talking to this day. When asked about each other in interviews lately they've been cordial. Should be a-ok by the time the season starts.

i'm a Cardinals fan and that i used to truly like Rolen and dislike LaRussa. yet I could trust LaRussa in this. Rolen desires to provide up being egocentric. The team is what's maximum extreme. Rolen desires to suck it up and play.

Rolen's still pissed b/c LaRussa sat him out a couple of games during the playoffs b/c of his bad back. But ya know, he's wearing a ring now, so maybe LaRussa knew what he was doing.

Rolen was mad at LaRussa because he didn't play him for a few games (and i guess Rolen thought he should be played) and Im pretty sure LaRussa didnt play him because of his shoulder.

Last season Scott went into a major slump late in the season due to his bad back, the team wasn't doing well in this stretch so LaRussa sat him out a lot. Role got upset and felt he could play, since he's not the manager he really doesn't have a say in it, other than asking.

Great Question, All the other guys have the answer but I'm here to say Scott Rolen will have a career year this year,he will be healthy and tear up the league.
