well i am under the care of a mental health profesional, and i know this answer............ you could get the jitters, or become paranoid, or you also could become depressed yourself, because of the cemicals react with a depressed persons brain and increase ceratonin, but can have the opposite affects on a normal happy adult, also children and teens should not use antidepresants because they may cause suicidal thoughts

I was taking Welbutrin XL for anti anxiety(its also used for depression). I wound up on this one after a whole slew of other anti depressants affected me sexually. welbutrin was the only one that didnt. Anyways my anxiety stemmed from very scary situations (buying a house, breakup, ex leaving, losing the house, bankruptcy all which i went through). When my situation cleared up i was told I still needed to take all that. I felt better one day without stress and i kept taking the welbutrin XL.

It was a friday night one warm end of May and i was all of a sudden feeling depressed, saturday came i started feeling so depressed and extremely suicidal. I couldnt wait for a response from my doctor so i immediately STOPPED taking it. I am fine now and deal with my anxiety on my own and know i dont need it. I just need to catch myself and re-think of why i might feel anxiety or depression these days.

But yes..it happened to me...i was so suicidal it was beyond any normal type of depression..i knew i had to stop..because i knew it just "wasn't me".

the molecular structure of the SSRI inhibits neurological signals that send hormonal signals called "peptides" and when it blocks these peptides, it suppresses a natural flow.

The body on a cellular level begins to form a resistant for that drug and the peptides overflow and there is no stop sign, which reveal themselves as symptoms. From vertigo, panic attacks, rapid heart beat, suicidal thoughts, mania (obsessing on elaborate destructive plans) etc.

So, the symptoms are often mistaken by the naive patient and their family as the disease. So, the psychiatrist has all kinds of things up his/her sleeve to prescribe even more drugs for the rest of that person's life.

See, http://www.breggin.com "It's not your fault, your drug may be your problem."

Funny, the side affects of these anti depressants are no different than street drugs like cocaine and meth.
