What's the best way to introduce young children to a new aunt or uncle?

I have two nephews, ages 3 and 6. As their uncle, I've been single their whole lives (I'm 27). I've been dating someone seriously, and it's important to me that my nephews get along well with my partner, who could potentially be their aunt. I'm really close with the boys, and would hope they feel the same way about my partner... any advice on how to introduce the boys to her so they welcome her, and to help foster a close relationship with a potential new family member?

Make sure that you talk to the kids parents (your sibling), and have them explain to them that she is your girlfriend, and go from there. They probably wont need to be too too concerned about this until you decide to get married- then they can just further explain that she is going to become their aunt, and so and so. When they meet her that way they'll already know who she is and assuming shes good with kids there shouldnt be any problems.

Have activity together. Get her involve in their life's if she going to be part of it. I'm sure you are more worry over nothing, because kids are more accepting the adults are, and if you are engage to her then let them know she the one you are going to married, you be surprise how they will love her.

Anyway, just introduce them to her. It would be about the same as introducing her to a sibling or something. No biggie. They'll at least understand when they're old enough.

just let them meet, take the kids out and tell them you are bringing some one special with you to meet them.
