Update your BIOS to the latest. Turn off on-board Video, through BIOS, Mother Board "JUMPER", or OS. as in disable that vidcrd through the control panel.
If you are getting video through the on-board but not the PCI, then do the above. This is on-board video OK to MONITOR, while PCI vidcard is installed. If no vid from either Use safemode change IRQ settings for the installed card. Now the latter is not easy, will need experience, do not attempt if not sure. would love to AID in that one, deep field. e-mail jayspc@hot.rr.com for deeper insight.

Ps that MOBO should handle a higher CPU like a 333.

Your biggest problem is the processor on the Graphics card is only 33MHz less than the processor on your main board. Yes, the video graphics card has a processor on it.

The best thing for you to do if you need to have the graphics card for some reason is to update your mainboard and processor on the main board. Not to mention the fact that neither your amount of processor speed nor your amount of RAM match the minimum system requirements for WinXP.

Although, just for laughs here. I remember when Bill Gates said no one would ever need more than 640K of RAM, but what did he know, right?

Welll, you might need to try to install the drivers again. Did you get a signal before on you old card. First, uninstall the drivers for the old card then when you install the new card then you add the new drivers. It's not your power supply, but it has been common, but since you just installed a new card always go backwards then forward. Hope this helps!

Most likely, but you are beating a dead horse here. Your system is fairly outdated and is not suited for running XP.

In fact, your memory (196MB) is below the minumum system requirements for running XP and so is the speed of your processor.

I even doubt that the PCI slots in your machine are even capable of supporting this card. Probably needs a PCI 2.0 slot.

to maintain your video card cool, you could evaluate setting up a gpu cooler. setting up case or slot followers will help pass the warmth air outdoors the case and with any luck away out of your picture card. The practice in utilising followers is as follows, carry air into the case from the front and push air out the rear. although the hot potential components incorporate a downward dealing with fan, it relatively is going to purely serve to pass the nice and cozy air out of the PSU into the case and not unavoidably get rid of any warm air already interior the case. you could evaluate a PSU improve while you're the two including a greater useful cpu, a secondary picture card (for sli or crossfire) or going for an potential useful 80+ potential furnish.

Go into device manager and try disabling the onboard video card.

ok, sorry for critisizing this but, You Are Crazy, Its kind of hard to run all that hardware and OS on such a wimpy processor.

On the bright side, its cool your trying.

Is this a media center you built.
