Math is extremely helpful, as you will find progressing through life. Knowing math well can help you alot later in life. Calculating a tip at the restaurant, at the grocery store, and when you get a job. I hope I helped you see the importance of math.

Because when you get a mortgage for $400,000 and you realize a slight difference in interest rates will cost you $200,000 over the life of the loan, you will be richer. Also, its important when you realize all those one time fees for closing your loan will cost you $5,000 until you question them. It's also important when you have to figure out how much you can spend from your paycheck to live and to save. Of course that is just ordinary people, others use it to calculate the proper settings for Laser energy blasting so we don't fry peoples eyeballs when we are just trying to fix them.

Its spelt "math" not maths. Math is important for everyone, including you! When you count money, figure out how many items to buy at the store, etc. What do you mean by "everyday" people? Everyone uses math - architectures, teachers, professors, scientists, pharmacologists, nurses, etc.
