you cannot use two modems. your best bet would be to go to like best buy or circuit city & let them know what u are wanting to do & they will lead you in the right direction. you will need to use a hub & router. hope this helps.

First of all, why not network the entertainment room to the office? Or use a wireless access point or router?
The answer to your question, as far as I know, is no. You can't have more than one DSL service on any given phone line. You could get a second phone line and accomplish this.

You can use 2 DSL modems but you must have two separate DSL lines to hook to them. The better thing is to create a home network that lets all your computers use the same Internet connection.

No, you can't use two modems. I think AT&T gives you one, you'd have to buy the second, if it worked, but it won't. One modem will knock the other off, and you sure can't have both online at the same time. As one answer said, get a router for the second computer, and possibly a USB converter, and the second computer can be wireless. I recommend Linksys, mainly because I've had Linksys equipment for over a year, their service is outstanding. If you buy Linksys, you can call their 800 number and they'll tell you exactly how to hook it up.

Funny question, I happen to have 2 DSL modems from verizon,
so last night I finally got around to hooking the other one up
in the bedroom, when I did hook it up, it knocked the other
modem in the other room off line, I think it sucked all the bandwith
away, so I unplugged the second one, and first one came back online.

SO do I, but you cant have more than one. Unless you have two pfone jacks side by side, which is highly uncommon in most homes. You can hook up a wireless router and get more than one laptop using the same dsl, pretty confusing. Ask ur internet provider for more information.

I definately suggest networking with a router. Especially for the entertainment room. I have 3 computers, 1 server, and 3 tivos on my network. I have my favorite shows copied to the server after they record so I can throw them on my Ipod before I head out.
I can also copy my netfix movies to the server and use the Tivo to watch them long after I sent the disk back.
It's also awesome for displaying your pictures via TV when your friends stop by to see your vacation shots.
