hi,
i am 5 months, and when i was 2 1/2 i started showing already. This is my first full pregnancy, (my first one ending in miscarriage) so it was really a shock to everyone. We all thought i was either longer than i thought or having more than one. When i was 4 months,i got an ultrasound done and its as far along as i thought at first and only one baby, but said the placenta was really high in my abdomin. Does anyone else have this? is there a reason for it? and is it more in having boys or girls?? just curious..thanks!

Actually a High placenta is good, a low placenta called Placenta Previa will force a women to have a c section because the placents could be delivered before the baby which isnt good at all.

Just means your egg attached high in the uterus and thats where the placenta grew. My placenta is low posterior, was concidered a risk but since it's clear of the cervix all is well. Nothing to worry about with a high placenta though. There are more blood rich vessels to feed it higher in your uterus :) Congratulations and best of luck to you.

a high placenta is a good thing, a low placenta can cause bleeding &serious problems if you have placenta previa so that is totally normal, it makes no differance weither you have a girl or boy...it is great & normal
