Is it ok, to wear a dress or longish top over jeans?
Or is that best left to the Kate Moss' of this world?

!

Honest opinion? if the clothes you choose fit properly & well & you feel comfortable than yes GO FOR IT. There is nothing worse than clothes you feel uncomfortable in that are also too big or too small so that you are always pulling at them (it looks bad even if you are size 0!!!). I reckon you should look good hunny. Go & enjoy

I dunno..... I'm a lot on the plus side and I like these long jumpers that you can wear over jeans like we did in the early 90's when you didn't advertise your waistline to the world and jeans went all the way to the top.
Would I wear a dress? No I don't think so, or leggings, I think they would highlight my middle age spread.
Question is do you feel comfortable or not? If it feels right -wear it!!
And who would be Kate Moss?

No you should totally do that look... sometimes the whole layering thing can be super flattering. My suggestion is since you're a bit bigger, get a dress that sinches at the waist OR get a belt to sinch you in. When I'm talking about the waist I mean the area just beneath the bust. Usually that's one of the skinniest places on a woman's torso and either of those two options should "thin" you out a bit. I'm a bigger/bustier girl and I do this look quite a bit. I'm sure you'll look fab! =)

From one curvy girl to another ... of course its ok - i find that layering it is good - so pop a long sleeved t shirt under a sleeveless dress or tunic top - something with a scooped or v neck usually looks really good - have a little look at trinny and susannah website for some ideas - its great. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable - personally i wear my long tunic's / dresses over a pair of opaque footless tights with a pair of ballet style pumps and get lots of compliments - be comfortable, proud and happy !! I'm plus sized and I spent far too many years hiding my arms and wearing sacks. Now I am wearing what I want and I feel and look so much better. Nobody has the right to tell anyone what they can or can't wear. You wear what you like and enjoy it. Confidence is very sexy, and if you feel good, you'll look good!

You go girl. Wear it. I am on the plus size and I wear stuff like that. If you are comfortable and you like what you see in the mirror, there should be no stopping you. Good luck

it looks better than short tops that don't cover your middle even if they are plus sizes they look like a size 8 on most off us as if we have bought the wrong size
