The Black Sea? The Sea of Azov? Are you speaking of the conjecture that perhaps, in neolithic times, these were the possible sights of Atlantis or perhaps the home of Noah, and that as Ice receded and sea levels rose, the flooding of the river basins gave rise to myths of world wide floods?

Yes, there seems to be plenty of evidence that the Black Sea was once a large, fertile and well-populated region of dry land below sea level. Some time around 5000 or 6000 BC, the level of the Mediterranean rose just enough to start pouring over the Bosphorus and submerge it.
