Your question boils down to whether or not you should leave the one you promised to love, honor, and cherish for the rest of your life because he has a few bad habits. All humans have bad habits because all humans are sinners. We marry because most humans' bad habits are not as bad as being alone . . . and the other puts up with my bad habits, too.
What are your bad habits?
If he were violent, then you certainly should leave, but you do not indicate that is a problem. He appears to merely like eating more than he should.
Clearly, you are put off by the larger gut on your husband. Have you told him this? Does he know how important this is to you? A very important element here that you seem to have missed is that overeating combined with smoking means that he will likely be dead very soon. Those two are a very lethal combination. Explain to him that you really want him to be around longer than a few years, but you need his work at the problem to get that. If he refuses, take out a life insurance policy on him. That might even get his attention.

It's normal to gain weight after you quit, or cut back on, smoking. However, your husband might probably have some other issues as well.

Don't let yourself be one of those.

In order to loose weight he needs to exercise and eat healty. I am a firm disbeliever in weight loosing pills. One idea is to book a time with a dietician. You haven't submitted information about how your husband is behaving towards you, but if the only big problem is that he is getting too fat then I definitely think you should try to help him.

You both sound like winners. Try helping him out a bit, encourage him to eat HEALTHY. Don't use WEIGHT loss pills. They're a waste of money. He needs to stop smoking altogether for his health. Talk to him and tell him you are concerned with his health and ask him if he really wants to die and leave you with all kinds of medical and funeral costs. Tough love if you need it, just be encouraging at first. And take the advice above and go back to school. You seriously need to learn how to spell correctly.

Madam,

If your husband continues to ignore his doctors advice and refuses to make healthy lifestyle changes, he may die leaving you without having to make this kind of decision. His weight and eating and smoking habits may lead to a number of serious, life threatening illnesses. It is my understanding that persons with eating disorders have underlying reasons that often require a professional to understand. Would your husband, with your support, be willing to seek help from a mental professional? Your husband's smoking habit is increasing his overall health risk. The top five cigarette brands have over 4,000 chemicals in them including known carcinogens (cancer causing), radioactive and "suicide" ingredients, like cyanide. If you do not love your husband anymore, it is time to get out. If you love your husband, offer support and then more support and then more support.

Leave or stay, doesn't sound it matters much. You'll probably be single soon either way. It sounds like he ain't too healthy and might leave you as a widow soon. I don't mean to be insensitive but you have a serious issue on your hands. Try telling him how serious you are about leaving.

That's a pretty big guy. Sit down with him and talk about it. Leave if he refuses to slow down the McDonalds intake, pack your bags and get out, people don't know what they have until it is gone.

are you from europe? and i dont believe you that hes 501 lbs. and remember your wedding, when you said you would be with him "through sickness and health" and "love him until the day he dies"....? him gaining wait shouldnt be a reason to leave him. instead you should be supporting him and helping him. you are just weak. you are a negativity spreader.

Maybe you should give him some positive ideas on losing weight, like exercise or to join a gym.
