In terms of longest through-the-air, they aren't recorded, but my guess would be Doug Williams, who won a Superbowl for Washington (along with Timmy Smith). It was said of him in his early career that he should be sent to Iran, as he'd overthrow the Ayatollah!

Are you asking about the longest completed pass play, or the farthest throw of a football in game time?

And no, Roger Staubach did not hurl a ball from one end zone to the other, no one has ever done that. An no, there is no such thing as a 101 yard pass, the max possible official play from scrimmage is 99 yards.

I believe that the three most recent 99 yard pass plays were:

Jeff Garcia to Andre Davis (17 October 2004) Vs Cincinnati
Trent Green to Marc Boerigter (December 22, 2002) Vs San Diego
Brett Favre to Robert Brooks (September 11 1995) Vs Chicago

I think there have been around 11 99 yard passes in history.
