I checked out this list of foods that are safe for hamsters:
http://www.petwebsite.com/fruit.htm
Kiwi fruit is on the list, but tomatoes are not on the list. This would lead me to believe that, for hamsters, tomatoes are too acidic, and they would be too hard on a hamster's stomach. I would err on the side of caution and not feed your hamster tomatoes until you've researched their safety for hamsters.
I have pet rats and some schools of thought suggest that tomatoes are too acidic for their stomachs.

Yeah for sure, it is part of their normal diet. A hamster can never have to much fruit.

yeah of course you can...well dnt force feed him or anything but try him with loads of vegies or fruits, anything really. he wont get sick just as long as you'd be able to find it in the wild, after all, thats where their food would have come from.
