well i love Robin Hood and he is an outlaw. but that is only because he is dashing and valiant. does that count?
and in Bush Cassady and the Sun Dance kid are the outlaws, and i like them alot! but they get shot up at the end of the movie, and that is sad...

Well, back then the "outlaws" and the supposed "good guys" weren't that different. Remember, it's the wealthy people that tend to be the most corrupt. Read any book on Billy and you'll see that he was up against some powerful (but evil) people. So not that he's a perfect hero, but he probably had good cause to shoot some of those people.

Some people do this because they are rooting for the underdog. And then some just prefer chaos over order. I am one to prefer the outlaw types over the straight and narrow minded people.
But then again I am a biker.
