How did a former dental nurse rise from obscurity to earn a £4m fortune as a 'celebrity'? Why has she become such a ubiquitous presence on British television screens? What does her success say about the cultural life of the nation?
The first time she was mentioned in the national press, Jade Goody was a "pretty dental nurse, 20, from London". It was 25 May 2002 and the car crash that was Big Brother 3 had only just begun.
By the end of the summer, Jade had been described as a nasty slapper, public enemy number one, the most hated woman in Britain and a monster. Big Brother message boards had received "burn the pig" death threats and Channel 4 bosses were urged to smuggle her out and rush her to a secret location abroad (maybe in "East Angular") for her own safety.
so there you have it a little girl from nowhere who made it big...we have those here in this country...

i wikipedia-ed her, after reading her STUPID name on here so many times...apparently, the Brits on here are obsessed with her. she was some NOBODY, then was on the reality show, Big Brother, got famous for being annoying and racist, and now they all won't SHUT UP about her.
that's what i got out of it.

i don't see why people are obsessed with any celebrity for that matter. i mean, i like some celebrities but i don't follow everything that they do that day or anything crazy like that.

she's a reality tv show person from enlands version of survivor... she is known for making really racist comments and generally stupid behavior... she got kicked off the show recently

I'm obsessed with death related things.
Not death itself, but things like caskets, urns and other cool things!
