There are quite a few non-stop flights between Winterpeg
and Minneapolis.

There's one Greyhound bus daily:

There are no direct trains. The closest train station to Winnipeg that services Minneapolis is Grand Forks, ND on the Empire Builder Route.

This train departs Grand Forks for Minneapolis at 12:57 a.m.
daily.

The bus from Winnipeg to Grand Forks arrives at 11:00 am, leaving you a 13 hr layover if you want to get on the train.

Obviously the train from Winnipeg to Minneapolis via Toronto would take days.

HOWEVER:

The Empire Builder pdf schedule says that there are bus connections to Winterpeg to/from Fargo, ND.

Fargo - Winnipeg
Jefferson Lines operates local bus service from Fargo. For more information visit Jefferson Lines website.

You'd have to change trains at both Seattle and Vancouver, or else change 3 times at Chicago, Buffalo and Toronto.
