Unfortunately you'll have to reinstall a big application(s) like Office. You can roll smaller stuff like drivers and settings back using

Start->Help and Support -> "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore "

I am running Windows XP, but on my PC, I would go to "Control Panel", then click "Performance & Maintence", and when that comes up, you'll see where it says "System Restore". Click that, and it will prompt you to restore your system to an earlier date. That has worked for me in the past, and you might be able to re-coup some of your lost applications. Hope I have been of some help for you. Good Luck!

Xp restore is junk, just turn that crap off, and save resources.
Once you get the system the way you want with your different programs, get Norton Ghost, or any good drive imaging programs, and that way you can restore to a past point
100% perfect.

you can go to accessories and sytem restore and return your computer to an ealier time and date but once an actual program is uninstalled you have to physically reinstall it. I do not believe the system restore will help...I believe that is just restore previous settings that have been changed.

If you have System Restore turned on, go to:

START | ACCESSORIES | SYSTEM TOOLS | SYSTEM RESTORE.

Once the program gets running, it will ask you to pick a restore date. Follow the screen prompts.
