Your boast would seem less asinine if the West had a better record in the finals.

The East will not get annihilated.
As already said, an East team won the championship 2 out of the last 3 years, as well as the last two years' All-Star games.
Also, basketball is an opponent-style sport, where one must outplay the other rather than outperform the other. If team A beats team B and team B beats team C, team A should be able to beat team C- but that's not the case in basketball; sometimes team C can still beat team A. While the teams in the West have the better records by a bit, there are teams in the East who could still beat those West teams in a championship, not because they have better records but because of who those teams are.
Even with unspectacular records, you can't count out the top three ranked in the East at the moment- Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, all strong teams who could still give, say, Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns a run for their money if playing head to head.

No because even though the west is a stronger conference in the last 3 championships 2 have been won by the east. Detroit beat la lakers a team that had karl malone, shaquille oneal, kobe bryant, and gary payton. Detroit could have beaten san antonio if not for robert horry performance in the fourth quarter. Miami beat a dallas team that was loaded with tons of offensive talent and was expected to win in 6 games. I believe Miami if shaq and waide is healthy and Detroit if they get chris webber can beat phoenix or dallas in the nba finals

You are kidding right? LOL Heck no cause the East have a couple teams that could give any West teams a lot of competition. I also root for one of them. They are the Bulls and the Pistons.

i can see where you get that from because right now the 1st seeded cavs would be a crappy 7th seed in the east. but the NBA isn't going to make a move like that right away.

Quite a few of the Eastern teams still have a chance. Don't make too many assumptions yet.
