Because the pharmaceutical industry runs the show and doctors of western medicine are their puppets. The pharmaceutical industry can't make money off of leaches and maggots.

Maggots, yes...they eat only the dead flesh, so they're great for cleaning up resistant infections, etc.
Leaches, no. There's NO reason why you'd need to have your blood sucked. Considering that the leaches aren't putting any blood back into your system, they're not acting as a filter. If (for reasons I can't even imagine at this point) you need to eliminate blood from your system, they can do that with a needle.
I think the reason it's not popular here is not so much because of the doctors, but because of the patients. Most of us are pretty put off by maggots, and don't really relish the thought of having them crawl around in our wounds. I'd do it, though, if I were faced with the option.

They answered you question, but leaches are valuable in helping drain the blood from horrific wounds and re-attached amputations, places where a needle won't work, ie: blood saturated flesh.

Because there is no money in it for the pharmaceutical companies. Who do you think teach the doctors?
The pharmaceutical companies teach the doctors what method of treatment they should be using.
They are not interested in your health... they are interested in making money off of your disease for the rest of your short lived life.
