Energy was produced continually after the big bang.
The first space-time pulse specified the minimum size of this universe and also the maximum size.
A single galaxy would be too small to be the product of the big bang that initiated this universe
If a single galaxy could have been produced it would have gone out of existence long ago.

Because of the sheer magnitude of energy that was release in the big bang. The energy obviously was so great that the universe is still expanding even billions of years later
