Commission based in not earning money by the hour.
It is earning no money at all unless you make a sale.
You will earn money when you make a sale.
Pro for the employer is, it will not cost them a penny to have you there when sales are slow or no sales happening at all. Sure you may be motivated more to make a sale. A customer may not like the pressure you might have to make a sale to put some money in your pocket. Pityful it sounds like employers try to take advantage of younger people or new work entrants.
My teen is called and told not to go to her job ONE HOUR before she is do for work, is that fair? Just because she is a teen does not mean such short notice is ok. Boss says oh well she will have to be told to go home if she arrives. Not fair to teens!
A good combination would be rate of pay by the hour, plus commission.
Good Luck

Working commission works as long as you do. If you don't work. No money. You are getting a percentage of what you sell so....
You are selling people as many clothes as you can. It is easy to do if you work on it. I hope you are outgoing and personable. Be sure to be complimentary.
