I first had sex at 15, he was 17 and we were in love. We wen't out for a little over year before going that far. It actually caused us to break up though, it was too much for him to handle and he didn't want that type of relationship so we went two seperate ways and I was glad for that. We stupidly hooked up a few times after that and had a couple pregnancy scares, i'm extremely glad nothing came from that because i'm with someone that I TRULY love.
I don't have any problems with teenage mothers though, or anyone on welfare. I don't think you should either, I DO have a problem with people that have babies on purpose and use their children for money from welfare! Welfare is for the people that need it and it's there for them when things happen that's out of there control. And I highly doubt that a lot of teen mothers get pregnant on purpose for welfare money! Come on now.
And you also need to understand that birth control does fail, pills fail, condoms fail, everything fails! And that ends in pregnancy. Not everyone is strong enough or wants to or believes in adoption / or abortion.
You were once a teen, I'm sure you can also remember the hormones?

Hey, I have no problem with you stating all this. But try viewing it from another person's eyes. I was fifteen, and I'm sure you read my post on that other question, I had been dating that guy for three years. first timer. Kay? The condom DID break. and that is NOT the reason why we broke up. three years, and I was thoroughly convinced that I loved him and that he loved me, and that was very true. I broke it off because I realized how he was changing me.
The times have changed. Abstinence is becoming 'lame' and outdated. and "love" is taking over a teenagers life. And I put that in quotes for a reason. A teenage girl, and I'm sure you are/have been one, gets a boyfriend, the first thing she says is 'I love you.' And then sudenly the world revolves around that person.
and then there's the other case of being a whore. and I know a few of 'em. high school drop-outs, welfare mums, dumb asses. but these girls slept with anything that had a pulse.
and high school sex-ed classes now pass out condoms. this is how much times have changed.
I'm done.

I too get tired of the pregnant question. I don't understand how they can know so much about sex and periods, but not know if they could be pregnant. HOWEVER, you had exceptional parents. My parents NEVER spoke to me about sex. I was unfortunately involved with a boy several years older than I was who mentally, physically and emotionally abused me before I turned 16 and wised up a little. He got me pregnant on purpose. He eventually killed himself as the police were busting in his house to arrest him on an unrelated felony. Not everyone is lucky enough to have good, understanding parental guidance.

one of my (ex) best friends had her first baby when she was 13. after watching that i didn't want to have sex for a very long time. i first had sex when i was sixteen (i still think that's a little too young), but i'm still with him (it's been almost three years) and we're engaged. i've been on the pill now for two years...
the only issue is: i found out yesterday that i'm pregnant. so yes, it does INDEED fail sometimes.
but that's why it's important to talk to your ob/gyn about getting on the CORRECT pill.
the problem with that is NOW we have to push back the wedding date and i still feel like i haven't lived yet. i'm still a teenager, but i'm no 14/15 year old... and i have been around enough pregnant women to know how to take care of myself and the baby once it's born.
but you know what, sometimes things are just meant to happen. and no matter what age you decide to have sex, everything works out the way it's supposed to.
but i certainly think that schools need to start teaching "Family Life/ Sex Ed" classes in elementary schools. and they need to learn about the risks of STDs more than anything else. :/

I started having sex when i was 16 years old with my boyfriend (now husband). I did not want to get pregnant so i took my OWNSELF to the doctor and got on BIRTH CONTROL myself.
When we decided to have a baby we were both 21 (had money, our own place, job,etc.). It took me 11 months to get pregnant. My son is now 5 years old and we are both 27. (We only have one child)
I do not get why people do not use birth control or they say they did but got pregnant on it and i just don't believe that at all. They had to of forgot a few pills or didn't go on time to get their birth control.
Kids should not be having sex if they do not have enough SENSE to protect themselves and FYI to everyone a BOY will say anything to get you to LAY down for them. Of course they will say i love you and all of that BS.
I mean really if you are going to have sex then use a 75 cent condom. I think it is a shame to see a teenage girl pregnant but i guess they think that is cute to be like that. Why would anyone want to be forced to grow up sooner than they have too?

Do you really think that this is an appropriate question from someone who started having sex at 16?
Is it so much less "wrong" to have sex at 16 than at 15?
Who or what is responsible for your grammar?
Get off of your high horse and raise your own kids.

These kids are clueless. And I think the bigger problem would be getting some disgusting STD! HIV KILLS PEOPLE. Babies don't. I agree kids need to stop having sex, but it's not going to happen. I just wonder why these young kids are left alone to do whatever they want. Where the hell are the parents??? That's what I want to know!

they arent thinking, they have these wonderful chemicals called hormones, and you had them too, only you were smart about it. It isn't that kids don't necessarily realize the consequences, it is that they are young and hormonal and do not think everything through completely. i am sure you did stupid things when you were younger, and instead of ragging on teens for being promiscuous dumb asses, help to show them that there are better ways to do the stuff they are already going to be doing.
