I am a mother of one and 14 weeks pregnant with my second child now. I would say she needs to walk alot do not over do it but she should try to get out everyday and walk a mile or two because that will help with delivery and it will help her energy go up. It is also very good excersize which is always good. Do not eat sea food as much as posible since it could have zinc in it and that is bad for the baby stay way from tuna especialy. Other then that I eat normlay if you have any other questions about foods and things like that she should ask her doctor. Congrates on the pregnancy.

First of all she should get an appt. with an OB/GYN. The book "What to expect when you're expecting" answered almost EVERY question I had while I was pregnant with my first child. Most of all use common sense: no drugs, smoking, drinking. A few drinks throughout isn't gonna hurt but there's not really a point in risking it for most people. Also she should take a prenatal vitamin. I didn't take one because it made me throw up, but I ate LIFE cereal everyday because of the high folic acid and iron content. My son is a very healthy 18 month old. I was gonna type more but my son just woke up...Congrats and good luck!

Well to start out with..she shouldn't lift over 25lbs...and shouldn't run or jog...a brisk walk will be good for her to keep everything going and to help her not gain alot of weight. Also..the eating thing..most people think just because you are pregnant that you have to eat all day long..which isn't true. She will need to increase her intake of calcium and magnesium. But you only really need 300 more cal. being pregnant in your diet than you do not being pregnant. And as far as medications she will need to talk to her doctor...mine said Tylenol was OK and tums which she will take a lot of probably.

I have 2 children and am pregnant with my third. She can eat pretty much anything, except for certain types of fish. Make sure to get her some Tums, cuz that heart burn will start kicking in soon as she gets bigger. Get plenty of rest!! NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL!!!! Make sure she checks with her doctor before taking any over the counter medicines

She should talk to her doctor, Eat a healthy diet just like any other time, Take prenatal vitamins and follow directions on all over the counter or prescription meds regarding her pregnancy.

If she is not hungry right now, don't panic. Her hormones will probably lead her to what she needs.

Oh, and maintain any present physical activities but do not start a new exercise regimine without consulting her doctor.

First of all she needs to take Folic acid 400mcg a day up until shes 3 months. No alcoholic drinks as it will harm the baby! No smoking or at least try to cut down. No street drugs! Avoid unpasteurised milk, soft, mould-ripened and blue-veined cheese, Liver and all products contain liver, soft boiled egg or raw eggs and foods that contain raw eggs such as mayonnaise, Raw or undercooked meats, fish or chicken. Unwashed salads and veg.

I agree with the web-sites given by the first answer. However, I would still recommend getting information from her OB because sometimes information on the web can be out-dated. My OB gave me a list of things to avoid during pregnancy. Best wishes to you and your wife for a healthy baby.

She should start a prenatal vitamin, take Expecta (a dha/ara supplment- helps baby brain/eye development), drink enough milk, eat plenty of fruit, veggies, and lean protein. Avoid drugs/ alchohol, smoking/second hand smoke. Also no bleu cheese, uncooked/undercooked meats/fish, unheated lucheon meat (risk of listeria), uncooked/undercooked eggs, or high mercury fish. Limit contact with chemicals- hair dye, non-natural household cleaners (I suggest using method- it is non- toxic and all natural), and pesticides. Get plenty of sleep and some light exercise (walking, swimming, yoga). If morning sickness plagues her- try ginger candy, ginger tea, and eating enough. Also, see her obgyn as soon as possible if she hasn't already.

No alcohol, smoking or drugs.

Eat well and take prenatal vitamins everyday (Materna is a well known vitamin).

Rest when you feel you have to and just take it easy.

Tylenol is ok but not everyday. She shouldn't take cough medications (nyquil and any others). Should check with your doctor if she has a sever cold and needs relief. Rest is important and if a cold is keeping her up the doctor will recommend something.
