I have an 01 Honda CBR 600 F4i. I bought two Blue Polarg H7 ION bulbs. It says its 35w but I thought the wattage had to be 55w. Will I be able to see with these bulbs? Has anyone ever bought polarg bulbs before?

They're supposed to be "about twice" as bright as their wattage rating.

so about 65~75 watt equivalent compared to your OEM pair of 55w H7's

You should see a noticeable improvement in illumination,,,
but it's not likely going be a large improvement

Personally,,I would have chosen higher wattage for a big gain in brightness,,,55's or more.

How much you Need depends on how & where you ride.

In any case ,,the 35w Polarg's certainly wont reduce your illumination any from stock bulbs.

Hope that helps

I ride a BMW F650 and over here in Ireland the idiot drivers don't bother to dip their headlights until they have blinded you for a few seconds. It takes them that long to think about it. So being totally P****d of with the Idiots I changed my bulb to a 100 dipped 120 main Halogen Pre-focus(100/120) Guess what, I don't get blinded any more. I got the bulb from a motorcycle catalog. The bikes electrics handle the load with no problems and the battery always has a full charge. I ride my bike every day morning and evening in the dark hours and haven't had a problem yet. You had better check with your friendly bike mechanic but the brighter light will give you a better chance at seeing objects and people on the road. Another problem over here is the wildlife ie foxes and badgers, they have absolutely no road sense at all.
Go for the brighter bulb. Good riding.

It doesn't matter the brand, you should replace the bulb with the same or more wattage than the original. If the original was bright enough, and it was 35w it should be OK. I had two 35w lights on a lawn tractor and all they were good for was to locate where you parked it in the dark. They didn't make enough light to mow.

Headlights on has always been proven to reduce accidents... so it doesn't surprise me that probably most cycle manufacturers probably have wired them to be on when running just like modern cars..... also on older bikes I think it is a law when you pass your motorcycle license that you need to drive with it on...
