Ask the person. Otherwise, it would be kind of difficult, because the records of marriages are local. You'd have to know where to look. A person could have been married anywhere. (My parents lived in New York state all their lives, but they got married in Maryland, so the record of their marriage would be there. I know several couples who got married in Hawaii or Las Vegas, even though they didn't live there.)

I believe you can just go to the county courthouse where you suspect that person married and look in their records. Those should be free and open to the public.

well most marriage records are public .......to find the information for free you would need social security number state they were married in.......but why would you not just ask........usually though when getting married.....you have to state if you have been married before and you have to provide divorce or annulment papers if you have.......otherwise it is a criminal offense
