Still pounds.
But some shops allow you to use euros, but i think thats only if your a tourist from europe!

You can use Euros in many tourist areas in London--Trafalgers square, Harrods and other department stores around Knightbridge, etc.) Outside of those, though, you'll have to use pounds... they're a bit nationalistic about their currency elsewhere.

yes pounds are still in use in the UK. my dad lives in ireland, on the border and he uses both.
