I get the message " windows media player not responding". Not just this program, but the whole pc fails to respond. I then have to shut down & restart.
Any suggestions?

try using another burn program such as
roxio - http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/allproducts.html
or nero - http://www.nero.com/enu/Downloads.html

also - when burning cd's / dvd's - it's good practice to close any other programs running (such as messenger, etc) and do not connect to the internet while burning cds/dvd's
especially if your computer is not running up to par or is an older model
- the more programs you have open/running the more memory your computer uses which in turn slows it down even more

you might also want to check the system requirements for the windows media 10 version to make sure it is compatible with your computer - you may have to uninstall that version and install an older version or try a different burn program (as listed above - make sure they are also compatible with the system requirements in those program sites)

I have always had problem with burning music with the Windows Media Player 10 and well the problem is with plug in. If you have Nero burning software 6 or above, it shouldn't be a problem.

You should try to update the windows media player.

Also you should try to get more memory.

A new computer or external harddrive would do.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
