Everytime i turned on my laptop, this "common" keeps on appearing but only once...I just don't want to see it anymore when i open my laptop again. pls tell me how to stop it. thanks a lot :)

I had something like this not long ago: an empty common folder came up with I logged my desktop on. the solution for me was a system restore. If you are using Windows XP, you can restore the system to a date before this started happening. The restore won't affect your saved files but if you've downloaded something, it will remove it. If you want to do this, click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and System Restore. Pick a date that is bolded, and is prior to the error going on now. Let the system restore to that date.
Any system restore is "undoable." If it doesn't work, or you don't like the changes, you can put it back like it was.
