I'm not sure why everybody thinks you need a special socket to remove the sensor. Just unplug the wire connector and put a box wrench over the connector onto the sensor.
You can get cheap generics or good OEM sensors at Autozone.

If you don't know how to take an 02 sensor off then you probably don't even know why you're replacing it. I'm not trying to offend you
or anything but many people just hook up a scan tool and see something about 02 sensor and then ASSUME that it's bad which isn't always the case.

But anyway, you need a specail 02 sensor socket. peace

Your O2 sensor is typically located on the exhaust manifold or just a little way down the pipe from the manifold. Some newer cars have two, one before the catalytic converter, and one after it. You car could have anywhere from 1-4 different separate O2 sensors. Remove and replace procedures are fairly straightforward. Unplug the wiring from it, remove it with a wrench, screw in the new one making sure not to cross thread it, tighten it down with a wrench, and plug the wiring back onto it.

Depends on the vehicle, but you will probably need to start with an oxygen sensor socket, a 1/2 inch ratchet, and knowledge of the location of the sensor.
