........parents who let their children GROSSLY misbehave in public?

I went to a restaurant today, with a friend whom I hadn't seen in years, who had made a quick stop in my town just for lunch. The table next to us was a mom and dad and three kids. Those kids screamed and threw food and called their parents "poopyheads" and all kinds of other stuff, and not once did the parents try to control them. We couldn't move to another table because the restaurant was packed, and we had already ordered by the time we realized that those kids were so out of control.

Ruined the whole lunch for me and my friend.....

I usually continually stare or glare at the parents the entire time. It is sad that alot of parents today do not have or make the time to spend with or discipline their kids. And what's really sad is that if you drop little comments or hints to the parents, they are totally oblivious because they don't want to have to deal with their own kids!!! Ignore it and it will go away theory I guess. You have to have a license to hunt or fish but any self-absorbed, uncaring person can have kids! I must brag, my kids are taught that there is a time and place to act up and have fun (at home), public places are not, in respect to others. I have had salespeople compliment me on how great my children act in stores! In a nut shell, if the parents don't give a sh.., why should their kids?

I've had the experience of a full restaurant and misbehaving kids near me. When I was younger, I would speak up to the parents. In today's society, you never know who is carrying a gun, so if it happens now, I just say good bye to the waiter or waitress and leave the restaurant whether I've ordered or not.

tough , isn't it? it drives me crazy that people put up with that in public. hopefully the kids got it good when they got in the car. if it happens again, just leave the restaurant even if you have ordered. the management won't hold you to it if you tell them they have a responsibility to ALL of their customers. its their job to tell those that have unruly kids that they are disturbing others. if it were adults yelling at a table they would tell them to quiet down. right? you know, primetime did a special on just that. who knows? maybe it was a hidden camera thing.

ooooooh! i HATE that! and these kids are going to be let loose into the society WE live in one day! i glare at the parent enough to let them know they should be ashamed.....it usually works.....when my kids were little and they acted up in public they were pulled by the ear outside (so everyone would see they were in trouble) and i disciplined them GOOD) then took them back inside where they always behaved after that (i never took them home because that would be giving in and they would never learn). it was enough where eveyone knew they were getting spanked (yes! i believe in spanking so get real all you tree huggers and "experts" on child psych...look at the kiddos today now that spanking is so taboo and going to the principles office is just an inconvience now and tell me how THATS been working for ya, OK!?)....those kids you saw at the restaurant are going to be even worse as teens for those parents who chose to do nothing. thats lazy, irresponsible and just plain bad parenting.

I just sit there and give them dirty looks. I mean I'm all for family time and all, but people need to learn how to CONTROL their kids. If you can't then keep them home or take them to a kids restraunt where fellow kids will be and then yours won't be the center of attention. I hate eating out and some kid is being a brat, screaming and yelling and throwing food. GRRRRRRRRR!!!

Yes i have been there, you almost want to go ask the parents why they bring them out at all if they cause suck a ruckus's. if they were mine i would be embarrassed, kids will be kids i know that, but there's no need for the entire restaurant to know that they are there.

You should have asked to speak with the manager and had him/her deal with the situation. He/she could have asked the parents to quiet the children down and or leave. There is no reason for that kind of behaviour in public.
